My connection to visual art began in my early childhood, which was spent in my grandmother’s near-gingerbread house in the woods, surrounded by wood carvings made by my great-grandfather in the Black Forest of Bavaria. But it was many years later before I began to make art myself, in the course Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. Having attended out of an interest in the psychological aspects, I was surprised to find myself taken by the art part.
